Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. offers educational classes in a
number of areas. With outstanding instructors, all of our courses are accredited by National
Garden Clubs, Inc. One of our eight districts or an individual garden club
might sponsor the various courses in different parts of the state.

The KLTV Weather Center was part of the "Air" portion of this
school. Among the first students in Louisiana to attend the school were
Linda Finley, Margo Racca, Jo Ann Ryan, Donna Bucci, and Mary Jacob |
Environmental Studies School

September 14 - 17, 2010
This curriculum is offered in a series of four, two-day courses and covers
many aspects of environmental science: water conservation, air pollution,
land conservation and endangered species. The National Garden Club's accredited
program does not require one to complete the courses in order. Successful
completion of all four courses is required to become a member of Environmental
Consultants. |
Flower Show School
The Flower Show School program was established in the early 1930's to provide
guidelines and rules for Flower Shows and to train judges. These guidelines
are set forth in the Handbook for Flower Shows. The FSS program consists
of a series of 4 schools. Each school lasts for 3 days - 2 days of lecture
and 1 day of written examinations.

Hammond Research Station
This School offers instructions on basic botany, soils, growing annuals,
perennials, trees and shrubs, fruits and vegetables, lawns, pests and diseases
of plants, plant classification, pruning and selected topics of local interest.
Although the courses are intended primarily for garden club members, they
are open to the general public, requiring only the payment of a nominal
fee. |

Tri-refresher course
Florida is hosting a two-day course which has been approved by NGC; August 12th and 13th, in Milton, FL at the Santa Rosa County Extension Office.
