The Gonzales
Garden Club held its April 6 meeting at the home of Gonzales Garden Club
President Janis Poche. Hostesses were, from left, Loretta Speligene,
and Rita Bourque. Poche opened the meeting with a roll call and each
member named their favorite tropical they grow. Reports were given and
final plans were laid out for the flower show and 50th Anniversary that
was held at City Hall on April 20. Nominations were given for the
upcoming new officers for the next two years. The thyme of the luncheon
was a luau, consisting of Hawaiian dishes.
