2010 FLOWER SHOW press release
The Rayne Garden Club hosted its 2010 Standard Flower Show, “A Floral Vacation,” on Friday, April 23, at the Rayne Cultural Center.
Chairperson Lisa Soileaux, Honorary Chairperson/Club President Hazel Prevost and Garden Club members welcomed guests to the afternoon event, complete with horticultural and design categories. |
Winners in their categories that followed a variety of vacation spots around
the world were noted in floral designs, including the following:
Roman Holiday - 1st place Genny Marks, 2nd place Josette Habetz, 3rd place Lisa Soileaux, honorable mention Julia Shumaker.
Petite Pari’ - 1st place Helen Garrett, 2nd place Antonia Hoffpauir, 3rd place Hazel Prevost, honorable mention Ethel Leger.
Mountain Snow In A Row - 1st place Judy Guidry, 2nd place Ruth McBride, 3rd place Julia Breaux, honorable mention Margaret Comeaux.
Hawaiian Paradise - 1st place Sepha Guidry, 2nd place Julie Anna Manale, 3rd place Lisa Soileaux, honorable mention Martha Pierret.
The overall design winner was Helene Garrett for her entry in the Petite Pari’ category, with overall horticultural winners including Helen Garrett with the Award of Horticultural Excellence and two Awards of Merit, and Antonia Hoffpauir with an Arboreal Award. |
