World Bromeliad Conference
Margo Racca, past President of Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. and member of the Iowa Garden Club. is shown with her Tillandsia ehlersiana which won the Judges Challenge Award at the World Bromliad Conference held at the New Orleans Astor Crown Plaza, July 28-31, 2010. Margo has been growing it for at least 25 years, but it has never bloomed nor had any offsets.  It has won many awards because it does not change in appearance from year to year. It is large for an ehlersiana which gives it more points when being point scored.  This particular clone is quite rare.  Folks who have collected plants for many years have never seen one this large.
